KC & the Sunshine Band on tour in the summer of 2007
KC and the Sunshine Band "Keep It Comin' Love" on tour performing I'm Your Boogie Man and "Shake, Shake, Shake/Shake Your
Booty" from the disco era. Harry Wayne Casey "K C" was/is the face and frontman
when the band exploded out of TK Records and Miamiís club scene to top of the Billboard music charts.
KC and the Sunshine Band is still wildly popular today, making appearances in concerts,
on the TODAY show and in the soundtracks of movies, video games and ringtones. Many
of the songs like "Get Down Tonight", (#1 April-75) and "That's the Way I Like It" (#1
August 1975) are the signature soundtrack of the disco era. In fact, The last Billboard #1
song for KC & The Sunshine Band, "Please Don't Go", was the very first #1 hit of the new year, the first week of January 1980, and the last "disco song" to top the charts.
KC & The Sunshine Band continues itís party-band image into a third decade and keeps the popularity of
south Floridaís music blend of Salsa, R&B, Funk and Latin Pop alive by performing Get
Down Tonight, plus Thatís The Way I Like It and the rest of the instantly recognizable catalog.
